1% Bedding
Revolutionising Rest

1% Bedding is a local bedding brand that carries a line of innovative mattress-in-a-box that allows for people to heal and recover their body while resting. This is achieved through the brand’s expertise and knowledge with micro-encapsulation technology—it infuses a blend of essential oils and chemical compounds onto the mattress, allowing for the transfer of these compounds directly to the human skin as one sleeps.

Its innovative range of mattresses are expertly curated and layered with different compounds to meet the needs of specific target groups, namely the (1) active lifestyle, (2) beauty conscious, and 3) silver generation.

We were tasked with developing a brand strategy and identity that would uniquely convey the knowledge, expertise and certifications the brand owns to develop products that are highly curated, effective, and of quality. The resulting Brand Position reflects on the functional attributes of the brand’s product offerings in a highly experiential industry; it positions the brand as unique and different, allowing customers to remember 1% Bedding more deeply, thereby achieving greater brand awareness and recall.

App Design

A key touchpoint in the 1% Bedding brand experience is the App design. As the mattresses are sold on a subscription model (mattresses are replaced trimonthly), the app is designed with returning customers in mind. It is crucial for the app design to not be an exact replica of the website, but rather a different sales funnel that makes re-purchase easy and fuss-free. With this brief, we created user personas and looked into the specific tasks list performed by each user group before arriving at the appropriate Information Architecture, and eventually the design of the app.
